About Us
B&H Wood Products, Inc. is currently owned by 4th generation lumberman Josh Berry. Josh is the 3rd generation to run this company. B&H is located in Stafford, Virginia which is about half-way between Richmond, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
We service smaller retail customers in the local surrounding areas (an approximate 50-mile radius) and larger wholesale customers in the mid-Atlantic states. We currently manufacture stakes for engineering, silt fence, and other erosion control products, landscaping, and concrete forms. Our stakes are made from hardwood materials such as oak, hickory, ash, maple, etc. Our trucks range in size from pick-up to tractor-trailers allowing us to accommodate small and large orders.
In 2006 we installed a new, state-of-the-art facility increasing our capacity to approximately 9 trailer loads of stakes per week.

Our History
In 1953, at the age of 15, my grandfather began making engineering stakes for the railroad out of the scrap pile at his father's sawmill. Later in life, he was managing a pallet manufacturing company in Ladysmith Va. He and his friend Steven (Sandy) Helms, who would become his partner, were looking at the scraps from the pallet company and thinking what a waste it was to just burn it up. My grandfather, Jim, remembered how he had made those engineering stakes as a child and the two of them began looking for a market. In 1970, B&H Millwork was formed, and they began making engineering stakes as well as landscaping stakes. In 1997 Sandy retired, and B&H was restructured to be known as B&H Wood Products, Inc. In 2024, my father, Mike retired and passed the family business down to me.
